Over the last several years, Southern Nevada has experienced significant changes to its climate. Increases in high heat days, extreme precipitation events, wildfires, high winds, and mega drought conditions are impacting the health, economy, and safety of the region.  

While Clark County residents are familiar with hot temperatures, extreme heat events continue to increase in severity and frequency. These events are projected to worsen, and the number of days over 115 degrees Fahrenheit could increase by 10 times by the end of the century. Drier, hotter conditions have made wildfires more common, leading to low visibility and poor air quality conditions due to smoke.   

These changes in temperature and air pollution have the potential to alter our infrastructure, food systems, biodiversity, and put the health of our communities at risk—especially vulnerable communities such as children, seniors, and low-income individuals.  

To keep our region healthy and livable, we all must work together to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for the impacts of a changing climate. That's why we are taking action through All-In Clark County: our smart, bold, and inclusive roadmap to a more sustainable future for everyone.
