All-In Clark County

Bold Action for a Sustainable Future

Scientists agree on one thing: we have less than a decade to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. All-In was developed to spark immediate action to meet the County's climate goals. Watch the county-wide planning effort unfold with local business and industry, municipal governments, community organizations and concerned citizens.

Implementing the Community Plan

Over the next three years, the County is leading on three priority, cross-cutting strategies that are foundational to the overall success of climate action in Southern Nevada.

1. All-In Regional Collaboration: Facilitate a regional approach to climate planning and to provide support for government and agencies to implement actions in the All-In Community Plan and other regional plans.

2. County-wide Climate Education Program: Launch a comprehensive, coordinated education and outreach program to enhance climate literacy and educate community members about opportunities to take action.

3. Energy "Program Stacking": Create a one-stop shop that can collect funding across a wide variety of programs to drive energy efficiency in existing buildings.

Involving the Community

The All-In Clark County planning process identified the need to provide basic climate education for Southern Nevada's diverse community as a high-priority action. The All-In Climate Education Program aims to:

  • Raise Awareness of All-In Clark County
  • Grow Climate Literacy Among Community Members
  • Be a Catalyst for Behavior Change to Support High-Impact Strategies

Clark County and the RCC developed an outreach and engagement strategy that leverages Clark County's relationships with community-based organizations (CBOs) to reach target audiences, particularly low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDACs). Providing a foundation of climate literacy helps build community support to implement the plan, adopt climate policies, and to shift behavior to reduce emissions.

All-In Climate Ambassadors

The All-In Climate Ambassador Program trains and employs a team of community representatives to educate and empower community members to act on climate change. Ambassadors support the implementation of the All-In Community Plan by providing inroads with historically underserved communities, attending events, building connections with the community, and driving engagement.

Clark County's current team of 15 Climate Ambassadors reflects the diversity of ages, cultures, and background in Clark County. So far, the Ambassadors have supported 80+ community events and have helped reach over 15,000 event attendees

Start a Climate Conversation

While 73% of Clark County residents believe climate change is happening, 66% rarely or never discuss it (source: Yale, George Mason University 2024).

Climate change can be a sticky subject — not everyone loves talking about topics that can feel overwhelming, frustrating, or even depressing (or be the one delivering the message). We understand that the task can feel daunting.

However, if we don’t start a conversation, who will? It’s more important than ever that we tackle the climate crisis, and simply talking about it is a deceptively powerful tool. People are more likely to be concerned about climate change if someone they trust shares their concerns.

This guide outlines 4 key steps to having productive conversations about climate change with family members, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances. You’ll learn tips for who to talk to, what to talk about, how to approach the topic, and when and where.
