Food Recovery
Reinforcing circularity in the County's food and waste system can also include food recovery. Connecting food generators to food recovery organizations can provide co-benefits for food security in the community as well as reducing waste and emissions.
In 2023, Three Square Food Bank in Clark County, collaborated with retail food partners to divert 14 million pounds of quality food otherwise headed to the landfill. The EPA's Excess Food Opportunities Map identifies 55 active listed food banks involved in food recovery in Clark County.
