Going All-In on Reducing Urban Heat Islands

Members of our community are going All-In to reduce areas of high heat vulnerability through planting trees and increasing the urban tree canopy. Trees help fight climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide from the air, providing shade, and filtering out pollutants from rainwater.

Hear from Lisa Ortega, Executive Director at Nevada Plants, on how strategic tree planting can combat the urban heat island effect, promote biodiversity, and foster community engagement.
